https://www.yelp.com/biz/texas-chicken-and-burgers-jamaica This is one of the fast food chains that are two blocks away from the Mohegan PS. 67 and where children would go eat after school. Since, it has cheaper prices and conveniently located near a school, parents would purchase large rations of fast food to feed the family and children.    This was the field site I choose to observe since, its surrounded by many local fast food chains that are easily accessible for the children.    The subculture I was observing for my field site observation was elementary and middle school children and the obesity rate among …

Box 11

Throughout the 4 years, I attended the Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation for my secondary education, I have noticed the racial bias when applying for private universities. As a hispanic female, the probability of being accepted to a prestigious college is very low chance. Not only is my race and gender a contributing factor of being admitted, but the social economic status of paying a ridiculous amount of money to obtain an education. Also, my high school did not offer an abundance of opportunities compared to a private school.
